It is certain to be a magical day in Panama City. The beloved characters from an entire global generation’s childhood fantasies and dreams will be there, in person! And children throughout Panama and the whole region have a chance to enjoy a real Disney parade, just like the ones at Disney World and Disneyland.

The characters will ride in eleven allegorical floats and several classic automobiles. Donald and Daisy will lead the way, followed by Winnie the Pooh and Friends, Tinker Bell and her fairy friends, and “Lightning” McQueen and Tow Mater from Cars. Also on hand will be the Lion King, Lilo and Stitch, and of course, the stars from the best Disney-Pixar productions: Toy Story, The Incredibles, Ratatouille and Monsters, Inc.

This will be the first Latin America visit for the complete royal court of Disney princesses, but the darker side will also be in the line-up: villains such as Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, and the Evil Queen. Disney Junior will be represented by Sofia the First, Jake, and Doc McStuffins, along with special guests Fer and Liesl from Playground Disney. And it wouldn’t be a parade without Mickey Mouse, who will be there with his friends to close the exciting affair.

“The event is supervised by an excellent team to make sure it remains true to the Disney experience, rich in details, and entertainment of the highest quality,” said Martin Schwartz in an interview with this magazine. Schwartz is the official spokesperson for ROLA, Disney’s exclusive representative in Panama for the parade.

The “Disney Magic Moments” parade is one of many Christmas activities programmed by the Mayor’s Office of Panama City. The city’s mayor, José I. Blandón, pointed out that “hundreds of families dream of taking their children to Disney World but due to migratory or economic limitations they can’t do it.” And so, according to the Mayor, “by bringing the fantasy dream world represented in “Disney Magic Moments” to our city we’re providing an opportunity for children in this city and around the region.”

Blandón says he intends to offer a first-class show “to both stimulate the tourist economy and bring together people from around the region.” And making Panama the “destination with a Disney experience” for Central America and the Caribbean will also provide opportunities for participating local artists.

With this in mind, the Panamanian Association of Tour Operators (APOTUR) and the Panamanian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism have put together several special travel packages offering deals that include hotels, transportation, and seats in a specially designated area for tourists traveling to the country to enjoy the parade.

Copa Airlines will participate in making this dream come true by becoming an official sponsor of this great event and transporting the “Disney Magic Moments” crew.

Panama is the third country in the region to host the parade, after Brazil and México.
